Settings on each iPad
Each POS iPad has its own settings under More › Settings: what it prints, how it takes orders and tips, its language, sounds, register station, lock screen and delivery fee. Business-wide POS rules are set in the back office instead.
- What you need. A Caller ID unit from CallerID.com on your phone line, connected to the same network as the iPad. Use CallerID must be on for each iPad that should show calls (More › Settings › General Settings). Adding callers to orders also needs your loyalty program turned on.
- Incoming Call pops up on its own when a call comes in. It shows the number and name, Apply to Order, and a list of recent calls you can tap to pick one. It closes after a minute. On an iPad, the Caller button on Make Order opens it again.
- Apply to Order puts the phone number and name on the current order. It switches a dine-in order to Pick up, and if the number belongs to a loyalty member, attaches the member.
- The panel shows whether the iPad is Listening for calls, Reconnecting to caller hardware or Not listening for calls, so you can tell when calls aren't coming through. Since POS 7.5.9 it recovers on its own after the iPad is locked or the app goes to the background.
- Cost. Selflane charges nothing extra for Caller ID. You buy the unit from CallerID.com, and the loyalty program it needs is included in Essential and higher; on the POS plan, add the Basic Member Program.
